Chemical Domino
In this project we were told to create a chain of chemical reactions or a board game, and give all the basic instructions for people to play. In our project our theme was a pirate type. We decided to base our project around the burning of tinfoil by potassium nitrate to ignite an LED, or our treasure chest. We had a Life® style board game, where if you landed on a certain part you would pick up a card and perform a scientific experiment. Including mixing baking soda and vinegar to blow up a balloon. Also we had a torch and different salts and the players had to guess which salt would light up red. The players navigated using dice and their opponent and them would switch off each time until they get to the end.
Reflection
This project I believe was a success for our group, we came and worked together and produced a nice final board game. Even though it ended up nicely it was still much more difficult and tedious then i thought it would be. Having to make sure everything works and getting the just the right amount of each reactant. Through the difficulties we had mistakes but we fought through them and ended up with the best game out of everyone.
